You can enjoy a range of activities during your visit.
Multi-day walks
- Six Foot Track from Katoomba to Jenolan Caves (46 km) - Complete one of the most famous Australian treks and explore the natural beauty and historic stories on this 46 km journey
- Cox’s River return to Katoomba via Dunphy’s campsite (48 km) - this trek is for experienced walkers only. Check out www.wildwalks.com for detailed walking notes
Short day walks
- Megalong Road to the Lodge via Bowtells Swing Bridge (7.5 km) - during this easy 2-hour walk, you will get to enjoy one of the nicest parts of the historic Six Foot Track. If walking on the weekend, you can stop for wine tasting at the Dryridge cellar door. Check out www.wildwalks.com for detailed walking notes
- Bowtells Swing Bridge loop via Coxs River Campground (2.5 km)

Mountain biking
- Ride down the Megalong Valley Road, then onto Six Foot Track or Black Jerry Ridge Road to the lodge. More advanced riders can come from Jenolan Caves on the Six Foot Track.
Wildlife spotting & birdwatching
- The tall open forest and woodland surrounding the lodge provides habitat and refuge for a variety of native species such as kangaroos, wallabies, wallaroos, echidnas, wombats, sugar gliders, large monitors and more than 50 different species of birds. Most of the birds can be spotted from the lodge deck on a given day including the vulnerable gang-gang cockatoo
Fishing
- Fishing - trout and carp roam our rivers

Swimming in the river
- Numerous deep and shallow river holes are safe for a dip after a long walk
